Question: how to change dimension of header

I would like my header to expand left to 1/4 inch of left edge (it defaults to 1"). Is it possible to modify the dimensions of the headers/footers?

It really helps to tell us what you are using: Pages & macOS.

The headers and footers can be deeper or taller but the sides are set to match the side margins of your document.

You can inset text from margins so if you make them narrower you can then fit everything inside that.

In your case make your overall margins 3/4" and then inset your text margins 1/4" if that is what you want.

Or are you simply asking how to change your margins?

In Pages 6.3.1:
