I want to re-install Pages 4.3

I have MacPro OSX Version 10.9.5 and hate the latest iPages. All I want is to type letters, which with Mountain Lion was a breeze. Simple, intuitive. Can I go back to Pages 4.3?

MacBook Pro, OS X Mavericks (10.9.5)

Hi Dorothy,

While you may strongly dislike the newer version of Pages that is installed on your MacPro, you've had no opportunity to learn directly to "hate the latest iPages."

For one thing, there is no "iPages"; it's just "Pages" or "Pages '08" or "Pages '09", etc.

But more importantly, the "latest Pages" (currently version 6.3.1) won't run in Mavericks—it requires Sierra or High Sierra.

But to your question:
If you had Pages '09 installed on your computer, and have not deliberately removed it, it will still be there. You'l find it (and Numbers '09 and Keynote '09) in a folder named iWork '09 in your Applications folder.

If you never had the iWork '09 applications installed on this computer, you will probably be able to find the retail boxed iWork '09 installation DVD at Amazon, or at other resellers. Install the applications from the DVY, then, before using them, download and install the iWork '09 9.3 updater from this page: Apple - Support - Downloads

Note that the updater is ONLY for the retail boxed version of iWork, and will not work with versions bundled with the computer or with the Trial download version.

The retail boxed version comes in two varieties which differ only in the licencing—single user and family. he software in both packages is the same.

In practice the Family and Personal licences are identical.

It was all on the honesty principle, there was no enforced licensing, and there is no registration site any more.

Now that Apple has abandoned the only decent versions of iWork Apps in favor of the latest (may contain traces of nuts) software, I suggest you give the iWork '09 Apps a good home. Apple obviously doesn't want them.
