I cannot upgrade from MacOS 10.13.1 to 10.13.2

I keep trying to update to the latest MacOS. The system restarts but does not upgrade. "Some updates could not be installed automatically." I tried downloading the full version and I get an error, "could not create a preboot volume for APFS install."

iMac, macOS High Sierra (10.13.1), upgrade
