How do I Sort My People/Faces Album?

In previous versions of Photos, it seemed that Faces could be sorted by name. So I named everybody by "Last Name, First Name". Now, with Photos 3.0, the only way I can arrange my People profiles is by dragging/dropping them manually into the sort order I want.

How can I alphabetically sort my people names?

Thank you.

If you select the People Album in the sidebar and ctrl-click it, you will see , that the "Sort" option is grayed out, showing "Keep sorted by oldest first". This is indicating that the album is automatically sorted by the date, when you add people. The most recently added people will appear at the bottom of the album. Grab the new people there and drag them into the alphabetically correct place. There is nothing else what you could do currently.

Yes, I said in my original post that the only way I could find to re-order faces to drag and drop them. I just find it so hard to believe that such a basic functionality would be left out by the supposedly brilliant Apple software engineers. Manually sorting digitized information. How lame!

Yes as I said the answer is

As of now manual is the only way - tell Apple what you would like to see - Product Feedback - Apple

And of course Léonie said the same thing (in more detail)

So although you may find it hard to believe it is a fact
