am using my time capsule with an imac for back up only. the back up seems to be working fine but i keep getting this blinking amber light. do i ignore it ?

On your iMac....
Open AirPort Utility (Finder > Applications > Utilities > AirPort Utility)
Click on the picture of the Time Capsule and a smaller window will appear
Do you see an Update button there? If yes, click it to update the firmware on the Time Capsule
Otherwise, look for the Status setting and click on the smaller amber dot there.
Another window will open up to tell you what is wrong, along with a suggestion to fix the issue.
use the airport util program on your computer it will inform you the reason behind the orange light
