Is routig through Final Cut Express 4 and XML explained in Tom Wolsky: “Final Cut Pro X for iMovie and Final Cut Express users” book? I have Final Cut Express 4 but it does not work in MacOS 10.13. Now I bought Final Cut Pro X and I want to reopen all files that I have wtitten in FCE 4. Is that conversion of files possible?
You would need to have FCP6 or 7 and use that to open the FCE document. Once it's relinked in FCP, you can export an XML file, and then use the SendToX utility from Intelligent Assistance to convert the XML to a format that can be read in FCPX. Import the converted XML file and relink the media.

No. 10.12.6 was the last OS that could access these apps.
The only way to convert the files was to go through Final Cut Studio, legacy FCP, which no longer works in 10.13.
So there is no way to convert FCE files to FCP X in MacOS 10.3?
