Is there any way to erase your iPad (because of forgotten passcode) other than using another computer or going to an Apple retail store?

If you had Find iPad enabled on the iPad and if the iPad is online you can long into the iCloud account on http://www.icloud.com and send a remote wipe message to it, or use Find iPhone app on another iOS device. Otherwise you will have to connect it to a computer's iTunes
