High Sierra December patch breaks SMB

Two high sierra machines. One with the december patch, one without.

The one patched started to have SMB issues straight after the patch was applied. If I try to move files the first move works but when I try a second it stays at 'preparing to move' all the time (in the background it actually has moved the file',

Finder needs to be killed and even then the machine will not shut down after the issue has started.

The unpatched machine still works fine.

Affects both Windows and Linux SMB shares

Brave to be checking the beta's

I don't know what Apple are thinking of nowadays but the quality of both IOS and OSX releases is such that I know have to treat the official releases as vastly suspect let alone the beta ones. Lost track of the number of IOS 11 bug fixes to date (and its still buggy) and OSX is heading down the same road now it seems

They've certainly had their share of problems lately. I'm hoping that the bad press and severity of those bugs is enough to get Apple to make some changes to try and get things back on track in terms of functionality and reliability. I've found an increasing number of issues where the solution is "wait for Apple to fix it," and that's incredibly frustrating.
