Hello hellfaya,

After reviewing your post, it sounds like you updated macOS and now your MacBook Pro is not starting. If the computer is not turning on the first article may help. If it is not loading fully on the way to the desktop, the second article may help. If there is a prohibitory symbol or another screen during the boot process, the third article may help.

Thank you Allan. We took the MacBook Pro to the iStore who could not solve the problem ( boot up hanging after the loading bar traversed the length of the bar from left to right - the Apple starting screen) and reloaded the OS, but changing it back from Sierra ( which it had just been updated to, immediately before the problem above) to El Kapitan. Is there a known problem with Sierra OS, and what OS do you recommend?
