print icon on my ipad 3 mini disappeared.

The print icon on my iPad 3 mini disappeared (I have used it often for a number of years for Airprint) after an is upgrade a few months ago. I originally thought it would be corrected in another iOS upgraded, but I am now running 11.1.2 And still have the problem. Although intermittently the icon returns. My iPhone 7 does not have the problem. I have tried turning the ipad off and on and clearing Safari history but that does not seem to have any impact.

I have loved iPrint and consider it extremely important. I have tried add-on print applications but they are very slow and unreliable. I would appreciate any suggestions.
