iPhone 8 keeps going back to password screen

I have an iPhone 8 and recently after I put in the passcode I will open other applications and then not even 10 seconds later it displays a black screen with a loading icon in the middle and then it reverts back to the passcode screen. What do I do?

Try a forced restart of your device:

On an iPhone X, iPhone 8, or iPhone 8 Plus: Press and quickly release the Volume Up button. Press and quickly release the Volume Down button. Then, press and hold the Side button until you see the Apple logo.
