unable to sync calendars on iPhone and macbook (High sierra) not using cloud

I am not able to sync calendars of MacBook Air (high sierra os) and iPhone. try with usb but does not work. How could I be able

iPhone 4S, iOS 5.1, mac boo and IClouds
