Stuck with a blinking folder symbol with a question mark after having erased the disk and restarted the computer without a start-up disk. In a earlier stage I tried to reinstall High Sierra without success.
The blinking "?" means your Mac cannot find a valid system folder to startup from. Which is not surprising since you erased the disk.
Startup in Recovery Mode and choose to re-install Mac OS.
You can also use Option+Command+R to install the latest version of macOS.
Shift+Option+Command+R installs the version that originally came with your Mac.
