Apple® iPod Nano 16GB

I loaded 8 books from Amazon Audible on to the ipod but will play 3 of them!!. They all play properly when I play them on the imac I have but only the three play thru the earbuds on the ipod. Any thoughts?

iMac, OS X Mavericks (10.9.2)
