An unknown error occurred (-54)

Consistently whenever I sync my phone with my iMac I'm seeing

"Attempting to copy to the disk .... failed.

An unknown error occurred (-54)."

This is happening after both first aid and a complete reinstall from recovery image.

If you see error -54 when you sync with iTunes - Apple Support
