Update and slow speed woes
My iPad Air had suddenly started running slowly. WiFi signal shows poor from Speedtest App., but WiFi shows Excellent from laptop and gateway tests. I tried a couple of Power/home button resets and a network reset from general settings ,but it failed to remedy. I thought that maybe installing the latest update so I could do a backup was in order. After spending 30 minutes downloading, it popped up with an estimate of 9 hours to complete. Then it failed an hour into it with a software error.
To complicate things, last night when I attempted to get iTunes updated on my laptop it yielded a signature error. So I attempted to do a download from the iTunes site. It estimated a 1 3/4 hour download time, but an hour into it, after progressing maybe 20% failed. I tried a couple more times but finally gave up. In the past Ive disabled security on my laptop to work around this problem, but is that really safe? This isn’t some kind of obscure shareware and updates should be a breeze to do !!!
If I have to take my iPad to the Apple Store I will cry. Its Christmas time and nearest one is a minimum hour drive away. It’s located in an upscale mall that is difficult to access and is over crowded even in the best of times.
