Is this a brand new iPhone that is in a factory-sealed box? Are you buying it from an Apple Store or Authorized Apple Retailer? If you answer "no" to either of the above, you should be concerned. Otherwise, everything is fine.
So it is not a technical problem that I have to worry about is it? As I bought it as a gift and would like nothing to be wrong with it ☺
Yes it was bought from an apple retailer I just found it strange that it turns on just by a simple click. Do you have this device?
I have an iPhone X, which is also powered on by a simple click.
My iPhone 8 turns on when I simply press the power button
