New iPhone 8 with 22 battery cycles...

Hello

I went to the Apple store in Paris today and i got a new iPhone 8 replacement.

Model number starts with « M » so I assume after some search that it is supposed to be brand new retail.

But I checked with coconut battery the battery cycle count and it shows 22...

So how a new iPhone or so called could have already 22 battery cycle ??

Any clues ?

You have 14 days to return it to the store for a full refund. So you can freely ask at that time for a formal explanation. Then you can buy anther phone and ask them to do an initial set up with you, part of which would be to determine the battery status.

No-one here can explain to you how this could have happened; only the store.
