airdrop

The Airdrop on my MacBook Pro (Mid 2015) running El Capitan (10.11.4) recognizes my iPad Mini (2nd gen.) running iOS 8.1.2 but doesn't recognize my iPhone X running iOS 11.2.

The Airdrop on my iPad recognizes my MacBook Pro and my iPhone X, and my iPhone X recognizes only my iPad Mini.

Obviously something is wrong between my MacBook Pro and iPhone but since they all are recognized by my iPad Mini I'm sure it is not an issue with the connections (Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, Do Not Disturb, etc.)

I tried already reboot and restart of my devices.

I would appreciate any help regarding this problem.

Thank you in advance.

Hi Mik74!

I understand that your iPhone X is not recognizing your MacBook Pro, and I'm happy to help. Please review these instructions from an Apple support article on this topic:

If you can’t see the other device in AirDrop

If you can't see the person or the device that you're trying to AirDrop to, check the following:

  • Check that both of you have Wi-Fi and Bluetooth turned on. If either of you have Personal Hotspot on, turn it off.
  • Make sure that the person you're sending to is nearby. You can't AirDrop to users who are out of Bluetooth and Wi-Fi range.
  • If the other person’s AirDrop receiving setting is set to Contacts Only, and you’re not in their Contacts, have them set their AirDrop receiving setting to Everyone.

Use AirDrop on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch
