Microsoft Excel update breaks Excel

Just an alert, have been using Mac Office 2008 for years with no issue. Today I received a note to do an update for Excel (I check once a week or so). After I did the update, it removed the old Excel and tried to force me to use Office 365 version. Not sure who else may run into this issue with this deceiving update, but just a heads up. Support can't help you unless you have the 2008 software and key handy to completely uninstall office and reinstall.

I posted on the Microsoft official forum and here to make sure people are aware. In looking on some of the Apple Communities, you'll see there are other non-Apple produced products as well, and since this isn't something that anyone has fixed (i.e. requires manual reinstall of an official update), wanted to get the word out.
