Why do my apps have poor connection when I am connected to my Wifi

When I am connected to Wifi and trying to use my calling app or my Facebook messaging app to try to call someone I have extremely poor connection when in settings it says my Wifi has excellent internet connection

iPhone 6, iOS 11.1.2
