detach audio from any visual

Hello,

Is there a way to have my voiceovers not attach to any visual clips in the timeline? (this is not solved by the "detach clip" function.) Basically I want the ability to delete visual clips without worrying about whether or not I'm deleting an attached audio clip when I do so.
