Photo import to iPhone 8

How can I import a subset of the photos from a MacBook to a iPhone 8? My daughter got a new iPhone 8 today. She had backed up her photos that were on her iPhone 6 Plus to her MacBook before turning in the old phone to Verizon. She does not want to import all of the photos, just the ones she chooses.
