Split pane view in Finder

I recently moved from a Windows-based machine to a Mac (macOS High Sierra) and the one thing I am missing is the split pane view that exists in File Explorer - where I can select folders and sub folders in the left-side (folders) pane, and the photos and images contained within the selected folder is shown as large photos icons in the right-side (preview) pane. I can then click and drag selected photos from the preview pane to various folders in the folder pane.

The four views available in the Finder application doesn't simulate that type of split view.

Is there a way I can achieve this?

Nope. No split view. You could take a look at Path Finder 7 and its features. They have a free trial.
