I bought an iPhone x for my husband using my phone number. now it has my phone number and i don't know how to transfer it into his phone number. anyone else have this issue? it used to be iphones were interchangeable by just switching sim cards and restoring from back. up.

It sounds like you switched devices on a line and that the IMEI of the phone is linked with the account number.
Are you on Sprint by any chance?
You need to contact the carrier and put whatever phone you want on your number and release the phone you bought for your husband.
Then have the iPhone X associated with his number.

Go to settings down to second phone icon click that next page top of page Change mobile phone number.
This may works is he using the same simcard as before?
If not contact the network provider.
