iPhone X locks/Mic doesn't work on SC,IG,Kik,Duo . (works fine with Skype, WhatsApp, FT)

Over the past year, I've become active in chat forums as I am single again. After receiving my iPhone X and utilizing the latest IOS 11.2.1. The issue is using video chat - There is a consistency among apps: Kik, Sc, Duo all act the same way, my mic is not working (other end user hears nothing, poor video quality, may lock up - always on kik). Skype and WhatsApp work fine. The mic does work on other apps. normally. Ideas? Known issue? Incidentally I think this was happening in Kik with my iPhone 7 as well.
