How I can do my FCPX more fast

How I can do my FCPX more fast? I use many hours for waiting for that the colorated circle finish to rotate.

... Also when I open FCPX I've a I-Mac 21,5 2,9 GHz Intel Core i5 8 GB 1600 MHz DDR3.

I use external Hard disks Maxtor for to conserve of my projects and files

iMac (21.5-inch, Late 2013), macOS High Sierra (10.13.2)

Puting your files on an SSD drive will

Improve performance. Also, be sure to do File->Delete Generated Library Files to eliminate unused Render files. This will make your fcpbundle file much smaller so it can load faster. (Better yet, change your library settings for storage locations so that your “cache” is stored outside of your library. )
