My photos have disappeared

For the last 2 days, I would go into my camera roll and none of my photos are there. It would say updating and then no photos or videos. I have over 2,000 photos and now they're all gone. They're on my iPad but not on my phone. I've tried turning my phone on and off but the same thing happens.

If you use iTunes....sync your iPhone. Make sure Photos is Check marked and that you check All Photos or Selected Albums, etc.

I wasn't able to do this on my iTunes. Are there any other ways for me to get my pictures back? Thank you for helping me so far.
