iP 8 - iMessage speech bubble freezes on screen

Every time I send an image via iMessage with text, the speech bubble stays frozen on the screen within the app. The message is transmitted, however, the speech bubble of the sent text remains on the screen inside iMessage app. This is not the case with text-only messages.The only way to clear the stuck speech bubble is by restarting the phone. My iPhone 8 is up-to-date. #absurd
