how do I save a picture I find on the internet on my mac?

hello,
Im new to the world of MAC. I have a blueberry apple ibook G3 clamshell laptop. I am trying to learn the basics there. I am trying to figure out how to save a picture or graphic I find on the internet to my mac. I know on my Dell I just left click the picture and save it to my pictures on the hard drive. then I have a My pictures folder in the hard drive and I can scroll thru then and use them for backgrounds or to email to people. How in a mac do I save something I see online that is a picture? Is there something similar to "my pictures" on a mac?? I am running mac os 9.2
thanks!
