In-app purchase problem EA Madden Mobile

In EA Madden Mobile the app crashed mid-purchase yesterday. Since then I cannot make any in-app purchases and get the message "Purchase Failed. We're sorry but the transaction was not successful. We'll try again later."


I have signed out of iTunes/iCloud account on all devices.

I have done hard resets on all devices.

I have uninstalled and reinstalled the game. T

I have tried it on both iPad and iPhone.

I have tried it on wi-fi and on LTE network.

I have verified that my payment method is valid.

I have contacted EA support who could not find any issue and directed me to Apple Support.

I still have the same issue.

  • I deleted the app
  • then redownloaded and installed it
  • then created a new account
  • verified I could make an in-app purchase in the new account (saw a message right away that indicated the prior unfinished transaction was now complete)
  • then I deleted the app again
  • redownloaded it again
  • logged into Madden with my old account
  • all was well!

Not sure if it was necessary to delete and redownload as I did, but I believe the new account overwrote whatever bad data was hanging around and creating the issue in the old account.
