What Windows Itunes version works with ipod Touch 3rd generation A1318 IOS 5.1.1

My windows machine has been updated to Windows 32 bit Version 10. Version 10.7 is download is listed for a 64bit version only.

Is there a version of Itunes for Windows which will work for my Ipod Touch 3rd Generation A1318 64GB running IOS 5.1.1.

Have looked and can't find a detailed chart as to which Itunes Version works with each one of the following:

Ipod model

IOS Version Requirements

Memory | highest | Lowest

Mac OS | Highest | Lowest

Windows OS versions | Highest | Lowest

Itunes Version for each one

There is one for the Macintosh which comes close, but it doesn't list the model numbers on the back of the iPod, so you have to look that up to find out its name and generation.

If it is version 9 of Itunes for Windows, I can't find it anywhere. The oldest windows iTunes I can find is 9.2.1

Any help would be appreciated.

iPod touch, iOS 5.1.1, Windows 32 bit OS 10

This https://discussions.apple.com/docs/DOC-10691 was not the issue as the driver was up-todate and the device showed up as a device on the My Computer screen.

However knowing that the current version of iTunes was compatible with all previously released devices allowed me to pass the first hurdle.

Installed current version of iTunes for a Windows 10 32 bit machine. Upon Launch the screen flashed on an off like a blinking Christmas light, looping so quickly asking for my apple id and password, then accepting it, next repeating the process over and over again. Task manager exiting iTunes was the only option which got me out of iTunes,

Next I went to my other machine to find out what position on the "Account" menu "View My Account" occupied (3rd.)

These were the steps I kept using until I was much faster:

  1. relaunching iTunes
  2. entering Apple ID and Password
  3. clicking the sign in button
  4. trying to get to the Account menu
  5. trying to get the View My Account option screen
  6. since I was too slow getting there, I was again asked for my Apple ID and Password
  7. then I was greeted by the blinking screen
  8. next task manager - end task

In the end the solution that worked for me was to change step 3.

3a. hover the mouse above the Account menu

3b. press the return to accept the sign in button

3c. quickly navigate to the View My Account before it made me sign in again.

Redid my credit card information and checked my Apple ID and retyped my password

Then I checked out the driver for my iPod and it was up-to-date, but iPod would not automatically show up.

Found another item on the web that suggest this procedure.

  1. Turn on the iPod
  2. Start iTunes
  3. Attach the iPod cable to the iPod , but not the computer
  4. Prepare to hold both the Home Button and the Sleep/Wake buttons simultaneously while connecting the USB cable to the computer,

Now everything works like a charm
