My photo library is suddenly locked or I do not have permissions to make changes to it. How did this happen? How do I fix it?

Where is the photo library? are you using iPhoto? Or, are the phots is some folder and not in some app?

You should start by trying a safe boot. This will fix up the file system.

Try a safe boot.

Shutdown your machine. Hold down the shift key. Poweron. The boot up will take longer than normal because the filesystem on the startup drive is being checked and repaired as needed. All about safe mode including what features and apps safe boot leaves out.

Click on the folder do a command + i to see folder information. adjust permissions.
