We are an Apple household -- a Mac, two iPhones and three iPads -- and I use a MacBook Pro and an iPhone for my work.

Three months ago, I was very happy with my decision to go all Apple. We have have had a positive 7 or 8 years as an Apple household. Up until about three months ago, I would have said, in fact I did say, that what positively differentiated Apple from its competitors was Apple's focus on quality products, service and its respect for its customers.

Then, about 2 or 3 months ago, Apple started to display its absolute contempt for me and other customers when it started sending out trojan horses that it called "iOS updates".

This malarkey that Apple's CEO is using to explain the company's programmed obsolescence of its products is unbelievable. If the battery in my iPhone5 was truly degrading enough to affect its performance and reliability, why does its performance and reliability fall off a cliff on the morning directly following the installation of an update? The "iOS update" a couple of months ago turned on Background Refresh for every of my Apps. That caused the battery to drain very sporadically and rapidly. That "update" also caused dramatically reduced touch screen performance . . . some times, the delay between a touchscreen transaction and phone response is close to 30 seconds. By then, I have started redoing the touchscreen instruction.

Anyway, today I was waiting an important business call when my neighbour called and asked me to drive them to an urgent care hospital. His wife had what appeared to be a blood clot in her leg. The hospital had said that it was not an emergency, but it was urgent, so they asked them to get themselves to the hospital as soon as they could. They were upset, so they asked me to drive them in their car. I did.

And I left them and their car at the hospital. I reserved a car-share service and ventured out in the blizzard to find my car. I found it and was using my iPhone5 to unlock the car when my iPhone, which moments before showed 72% power in the battery, shut off. It would not go back on again. No phone, no car. So, I walked home in that blizzard. 26 blocks. I kept warm by writing this goodbye note to Apple in my head. The weather was cold by seething kept me warm and preoccupied.

I had just downloaded your latest "iOS update" . . . but lets call it what it was -- your latest trojan horse.

After Christmas, I am going to buy a new, reliable smartphone that is from an ethical manufacturer that respect its customers. I also plan to write an article, based on this complaint, on my LinkedIn blog.

And then, as it comes time to replace our tablets and computers, I will be looking for a brand from an ethical manufacturer that respects its customers.

Three months ago, Apple might have met my criteria as being an ethical manufacturer that respects it customers but your company's recent actions have proven to me that you no longer qualify.

Hello Brandon.bob,

Apple Community Specialists may sometimes respond to a question if it hasn't had an answer in at least a day. But the most they are likely to do is give you a link to a support document.

Apple does have a channel for such comments. You can send your feedback to Product Feedback - Apple

However, I suggest you save your money on the stock purchase. An individual customer complaint, or even a big media story like the "iPhone slowdown" doesn't have much meaning to stockholders. Mostly they are just considered little more than free advertising. Until it hurts the bottom line, all publicity is good publicity. Unfortunately, from your perspective at least, Apple's profitability is just off the charts. If a few hundred million of Apple's best customers stop buying, then you might see some changes. But even then, Apple still has about a quarter-trillion dollars in cash. To make a long story short, they are just too rich and powerful. Such is life.

And, if I am still seething on Jan 22 2018, I might buy one share of Apple stock and register to come to the shareholders meeting where I can express my concerns publicly.

I remind you of the old adage that it takes a long time and a lot of hard work to build a great reputation but it only takes one misinformed action to ruin it. Apple had earned one but it is no longer deserved.

My question was how do I contact Apple to express my concerns. The Apple website does not provide a channel to send comments like mine. All the options that they provide are very channeled. I cannot find a corporate e-mail address for a complaints department.
