Face ID Eye Damage Concern - Flood Illuminator and Dot Projector

Hi,

I just bought an iPhone X recently and I absolutely love it, however my concern is that the I've noted a faint red blinking light emitting from the iPhone X top-left notch and Ive done some research in regards to this and it turns out to be a functional role of Face ID. I did disable the feature however I can still see the red light whenever I unlock the phone. I know infrared is supposed to be invisible, however its clearly visible, which made me wonder if it is even safe to use anymore. If the iPhone projects dots on to your face, doesn't it also project tiny dots into the retina which can cause damage to the eyes if the phone is held close enough especially with high intensity of discharge. I am actually considering to return my iPhone if this problem doesn't get addressed.

Thanks

iPhone X, iOS 11.2.1
