i'm running OS 10.13.2 on a retina 5k 27-in iMac with 4 Ghz intel core processor, 32 GB 1867 MHz DDR3 memory. how do i install the scanner on my cannon mf210 printer? i have the printer function working fine, but can't figure out how to scan a document. (i've found the scanning process isn't transparent, i.i, plug and play)

Open Image Capture. You should be able to scan from there.
Hit the nail on the head the drivers for the scanners require cable connnection .
they don’t work wireless or even via a Airport Hub.
still no cigar! have the cannon connected with usb cable, but cannon is asking me to connect the computer tried powering down and back on... nope! do i maybe have shut of the wireless connection and how do you do it? (thanks much for sticking with this probelm)
i tried that first. it says "No camera or scanner connected" maybe the mf210 scanner doesn't work with wi-fi??
