I used to use a little automater script to make the dock dark but leave the menu alone and that worked up through 10.12 but not with 10.13 . Does anyone know how to have the dock be in dark mode but NOT the menu?
If you put your script into the editor and re-Save it using the current version of Automator.
Alas this does not help. The script is just 3 commands
defaults write NSGlobalDomain AppleInterfaceStyle Dark; killall Dock
defaults remove NSGlobalDomain AppleInterfaceStyle
Running those in a terminal window does not make the dock dark (it does kill it so it restarts). Opening the script in the Automater and hitting run has exactly the same (bad) result).

There is no "remove" listed in the defaults command syntax. There is delete though.
