Hi

Battery life varies depending on use and other factors. Examples are detailed here:

Apple Watch - Battery - Apple

A full charge takes around 2 hours.

Apple advises that you can charge Apple Watch (not I Watch) whenever you want. There is no need to let the battery discharge to any particular level first, nor any benefit to be gained from doing so:

Batteries - Why Lithium-ion? - Apple

Apple's tips for maximising battery life and battery lifespan on Apple Watch are detailed here:

You may find it most convenient to charge your watch nightly, overnight. The watch cannot be overcharged and the battery will not suffer any harm from regular charging. Charging will stop automatically when the battery is fully charged and start again if and when required due to ongoing battery usage.

Follow Apple's safety and handling instructions and also note that:

  • It is not possible to turn the watch off whilst it is on the charger and connected to power - this is normal.
  • It is also normal for your watch, power adapter and charging cable to become warm when connected to power.

You may find (the optional) Nightstand Mode useful:

My watch series 3 GPS battery lasts for at least 2 days. I usually do 2 hours activities each day (walking). I always have my iPhone with me so assume it probably isn’t doing to much gps work. I usually charge it every other night And wear it when sleeping occasionally; heart rate gives a good idea of how well I sleep. It probably takes 1 to 2 hours to charge fully.

My old original after 2 years was struggling at the end of the day especially after extended workouts but still working well.

I am still amazed at how the closing of circles and getting achievement awards is so motivating.
