connecting ipad pro to laptop for drawing

My Son has a 10.5" Ipad Pro (current model) that he would like to connect to his Laptop (windows 10) so he can use the ipad as a drawing tablet. Does anyone know if this is possible? He is only 11 is interested in animation and coding but as a beginner I do not want to go and purchase yet another gadget until I am sure he is going to stick to it.

I would appreciate any advise.
