Are model numbers MA146LL/A and MA446LL/A the same?

Hello,

I am seeing two different model numbers for the 30GB Black iPod. Amazon.com lists these as 5th generation (MA146LL/A) and 5.5 Generation (MA446LL/A). I ordered a refurbished 30 GB Black iPod on apple.com just yesterday (MA146LL/A), and I was curious to know if there was any difference between these two models.

I'm new to the iPods and have never used them before. Would appreciate any inputs I can get.

Thanks,
-Santhosh

As I stated, the only real differences are the loss of the Search feature, and less battery life during video playback. And a slightly less bright screen I believe, though as it stands I find my screen plenty bright and I crank down the brightness pretty low.

Thanks for the inputs! Do you think it would be a major difference? Pardon my ignorance, but I've never used an iPod ever before.....

Follow up question - should I go ahead and cancel my order and go for the "Late 2006 product refresh" instead?

Hey, thanks a lot for your inputs!

The order I place yday has already been shipped, so I guess I'll wait for it to arrive and see how I like it. And again, this was a refurbished model I ordered off of the apple website, and I'm hoping I will not have any major problems.
