getting error code -1007D on my 2012 macbook pro. It is intermittently not launching with display lit and display shutting down... any suggestions?

display shut down with fans still running last night.

It now sometimes launches normally but then does the same, but more often, does not launch at all, can hear fans running.

Suggestions?

I am unable to find a comprehensive list of error codes anywhere online.

very aggravating.

I understand that you are having issues with your MacBook Pro shutting down unexpectedly and/or not launching. There could be a number of things going on here, let's start by running Apple Hardware Test on the system before doing anything else. See this support article for the steps to run the test:
