Try this. It worked for me. I just did this, so I’m not sure it’s a long term solution.
Go to general settings.
Turn off auto time.
Restart phone.
Turn auto time back on.
After I did this, my texts returned to their proper order.
I hope this helps
I turned off automatic time, restarted, and turned it back on and so far I haven't noticed the issue. So this seems like it might be the fix.
This is getting very frustrating. I updated to 11.2.5 in hopes of this bug being squashed (especially since the fix was specifically called out in the change log for the ios update). However, it only went away for a short period of time after the update to 11.2.5. The issue is now back. My friend and I did some troubleshooting today. It appears that if the reply to the outgoing message is typed and sent back by the other person in less than approximately a minute, then the reply gets inserted above the original message in the conversation chain. If the reply is sent by the other person after a minute has passed, then the reply gets correctly placed in the conversation chain. It is incredible that this bug is still going on and the number of views that the iPhone support community threads are getting (this one has over 10k) says it all.
My wife and I who both have the 6s plus are having the same issue. We are using software version 11.2.1
Sheldon Cooper? Come on. That was funny.
Ok. Here ya go.
I had the same problem with my texts.
Besides Apple, I checked some other boards on the net.
They all had various suggestions. I put a couple together. Added a little of my own. And presto, it worked. Glad to share with everyone.
Whatever Apple is doing making older text replies appear above the original text is awful, very confusing, causing chaos with communication. Please change it back to how it was! Reply texts should appear below the oriinquiry.
Apple is getting on the same level as m$oft..nothing like getting its users frustrated to the point of madness...Fix the **** thing and test before releasing any update....Have you guys taken up membership of the latter day morons sect or somethin'???
I am having this same exact problem with messaging. Their reply appears before mine. I don't have a problem with messages appearing in my inbox. iOS 11 is really buggy.
me too
yes I now how been getting replies to texts on top of the regular one
I’m having the exact same issue.
Mine is doing same!!
Couldn’t find where auto time was
Text message reply appears before mine
