Safari won't play twitter videos or Gifs unless in a private window

Hello,

I'm wondering if anyone has this problem or has a solution. I've only come across this issue with on one website - whenever I try to play a video or a gif on twitter.com it doesn't work. Nothing pops up it simply just doesn't play. However when I try and play the same video/gif in private mode it works just fine.

Would be much appreciated if anyone has any suggestions.

MacBook Pro, macOS Sierra (10.12.5), null

Try right clicking on the video. A contextual menu will open up.

Do you see any option to play the video in a window other than in a private window?

Safari > Preferences > Extensions

Turn off all extensions and test.

If Safari is slow, stops responding, quits unexpectedly, or has other issues
