Display Dims When Covering Camera

Just got a new iPad Pro and I tend to hold it with my finger near the camera lens and flash. I have True Tone disabled but the screen is automatically dimming when I put my finger there and I need to turn this off! How do I do this?

Thanks so much for anyhelp!

turn off auto brightness

The light coming into your camera sensor tells the screen how much to dim or brighten. Which is probably what you are triggering when you hold the device near the front facing camera lens
