Back button iPhone X

I just got iPhone X last week. The second day I had it I updated to IOS 11.2.1. I am noticing now that I have difficulty using the back button (top left corner) on messenger, gmail and sometimes on chrome. I have to press the back arrow 3-8 times to get it to work. Additionally when in messenger and I click on the info (I) in top right I get compose screen instead of contact info. Is this iPhone X problem or 11.2.1?

Could be a hardware issue.

Have you tried this and does it still have the issue?

Restart your iPhone X

Press and hold the Side button and either volume button until the slider appears.
Drag the slider to turn your iPhone X completely off.^*
After your iPhone X turns off, press and hold the Side button again until you see the Apple logo.

If that hasn't resolved the issue then try resetting the iPhone.
