Picture in Picture effect iMovie

I used the picture in picture effect in Imovie. So I have picture 1 with a second smaller picture (picture 2) in it.

Now I want to zoom in to picture 2.

I can't make it work. Does anyone now how to do this?

Hi,

You can add a Ken Burns effect to Picture 2, to make it zoom within the picture itself. There is no specific function that would allow you to zoom the inserted picture to make it occupy the entire screen.

If you want to make the inserted Picture 2 zoom to occupy the entire screen, you can overlay your picture in picture, take a screen shot of the overlayed composite image, drag your screen shot into the timeline, and then apply a Ken Burns effect to zoom into the inserted picture.

Thank you. I tried it as well with the screen shot, that worked. But then you lose resolution.

However, accidentally after asking the question I found a function of iMovie which does this. If you go to movie overlay settings (when you entered two pictures in 1), you can add new time points, bij adding on the plus.

If you scroll through the video or picture, you can then determine the size of the picture on the specific time points and then you can make the picture small at the beginning and cover the entire screen at the last time point.
