Delete books in iBooks from the iCloud

Hi I’ve already read the discussions relating to this issue, but couldn’t find a solution. All I want is that I have saved pdfs in iBook and they are huge(over a gigabyte each) and I’m afraid they are using my iCloud storage, which is just the free 5gb. So I want to delete them of the cloud so I can use the space for something else...

So is there any way to delete iBooks(books or pdfs) from the iCloud permanenty?

Hi dTechie,

I understand that you'd like to know how to delete books from iCloud and iBooks to free up space on iCloud. I'm happy to provide some help for this.

Check out the steps in the article below to learn how to do this from your MacBook Pro:

dTechie,

We're glad to hear that information helped. If you only wish to delete the iBooks from iCloud so that they free up storage space, but don't necessarily need to hide them, you can follow the other steps provided in that same article:

Use iCloud Drive or iBooks to access your PDF files, ePub files, and books - Apple Support

iPhone, iPad, iPod touch

  1. Open iBooks.
  2. In the upper-right corner of the iBooks window, tap Select.
  3. Scroll to find the item that you want to delete, then tap it.
  4. In the upper-left corner of the iBooks window, tap Delete.
  5. If you want to remove the file from iCloud and all of your devices, tap Delete From All Devices.
If you only want to remove the copy stored on the device you're using, tap Delete This Copy. The file stays in iCloud and on your other devices.

Cheers!
