Cursor Freeze

I have noticed that in a number of applications (mostly games), some on line some off line, my cursor tends to freeze in the last position to which data was entered on the keyboard for a few seconds.
Sometimes, if I lift my finger off the trackpad and then touch again the cursor moves immediaitely. Sometimes I just have to wait.

Is this a known bug? is there something I can do about it?
