Question

My iPad Got Locked (Activation Lock)

After restoring my iPad when it got stucked in the Apple logo it got locked out. (activation lock)

After restoring it was assigned to

l*****@hotmail.com which is not my apple id. Never did, never will.

Already called Apple Support and they cannot do something about it.

I have presented them the box and the iPad with matching serial numbers but i have not purchaed receipt as I bought the iPad in ebay.ph.

There explanation is that i bought an iPad that have previously assigned apple id. Refurbished, perhaps.

But when i bought the iPad i set it up with my own apple id. It work.

Then i do not know how it got locked.

Now my iPad is bricked and will soon buy a new one.

Apple will only potentially help the original purchaser remove activation lock from a device, and only if they have proof of ownership e.g. original receipt with the iPad's serial number on it. Have you contacted the store/person that you bought it from off eBay ?

Yes, already contacted the person but to no avail.

iPad is functioning until it got stucked in a loop.

So i restore it. Then the unthinkable happen. It is promoting an email address or apple id that i didn't know.

Apple is really keen on security.

They cant do anything about it they said.

They can't help as you didn't buy the iPad new, only the person whose account it's locked to can potentially help you (Apple also can't help you find that person)

Yes, that is the truth.

Just gonna buy a new one perhaps.

And never lament on the old iPad.
