iTunes won't play .wma files, so you will need to use a third-party program to convert to MP3. There are a number you can find by Googllng: on a Mac VLC Media Player will do this. When I just tried it it saved the file without an extension, so you will need to add this when titling the file or by amending the filename.

The Windows version of iTunes will convert unprotected WMA files to a format that iTunes can play and sync. The Mac OS X one won't.
